Sanitation Tech (FT)

This position will perform the tasks necessary to maintain the degree of cleanliness and sanitary conditions within the plant. Potential candidates for this position must possess a moderate level of technical abilities and be capable of completing specialized safety training.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Break down, clean, and sanitize food-processing equipment.
• Perform general cleaning of structural components such as walls, floors, HVAC units and ductwork, lights, pipes, windows, and ceilings.
• Regularly clean and maintain auxiliary rooms, structures and outside areas of the facility.
• Complete necessary paperwork associated with position.
• Periodically perform or participate in GMP or Food Safety audits.  Effectively communicate results and corrective action as required.
• Check equipment for proper functioning.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must possess good oral and written communication skills as well as basic math skills. 

• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Work in high elevations, confined spaces, extreme heat and / or extreme cold.
• Able to navigate stairs / ladders
• Ability to learn how to operate a variety of sanitation equipment (i.e. floor scrubber, pressure washers, etc.)
• Must possess the ability to use a variety of hand tools such as scrapers, air hose, wrench, screwdriver, etc.
• Job specific PPE is required.
• Must be able to perform independently and as part of a team.
