Spring Break Theatre Camp: Looking for a stimulating, creative, and engaging environment for your young one while school is on break? Join us at Talespinner Children’s Theatre for our 2024 Spring Break Theatre Camp! Your school age children will spend their day with a professional teaching artist learning the fundamentals of acting through theater, dance, music, visual arts, and media-based activities. Students will focus on a different fundamental skill of acting (concentration, cooperation, imagination, body, and voice) each day, putting all these skills together in a self-written and performed production at the end of the week! March 25th-29th OR April 1st-5th Summer Camps Week One: Kick Off Theatre Camp, June 3rd-7th Looking for a stimulating, creative, and engaging environment for your young one while school is out? Join us at Talespinner Children's Theatre for our 2024 Summer Theatre Camp! Your school age children will spend their day with a professional teaching artist learning the fundamentals of acting. Week Two: Careers in Theatre, June 10th-14th Do you have a young creative at home with the potential to be a theatrical jack of all trades? Send them to us to explore writing, performing, hair/wig/make-up design, costume design, light & sound design, AND set & prop design and construction over the one-week Careers in Theatre camp. Join us on the final day of camp for our informal presentation where the students will display and present their 2D, 3D, individual, partner, and group work from the week for their family and friends! Week Three: Comedy Camp, June 24th-28th If your home is full of silly souls and non-stop giggles our Comedy Camp will be a natural environment for your camper! Students will study different forms of comedy such as pantomime, slapstick, improvisation, sketch comedy, and more. Working individually, in partners, and in small groups campers will get a range of experiences as they write, act out, and view hilarious skits and sketches all week long. Join us on the final day of camp as the students perform their favorites from Comedy Camp! Week Four: Musical Theatre Camp, July 8th-12th Join us for Musical Theatre camp if your young one just can't help tapping their toes wherever they go! Each day students will focus on the fundamentals of musical theatre (acting, dancing, and singing) as well as explore a different musical. Campers will watch performances, cast/crew interviews, learn scenes/numbers, and even reinvent some of their favorite musicals! At the end of camp participants will perform their favorite creations/numbers from throughout the week for friends and family! Week Five: Fantasy Camp, July 22nd-26th If you can pull your fantasy fanatic out of the clouds/books/computer chair for long enough to get them to camp, we promise they’ll get their fantastical fix with us! We’ll explore different mythical creatures and fantastical settings while we learn about the elements of a story (yes - English Language Arts standards!). Students will create 4 mini-fantastical short stories to perform on their final day of camp. Fantasy Camp is the perfect place for creative, imaginative, and dramatic children to flourish and feel right at home! Weeks Six & Seven: Production Camp - Annie Jr., July 29th - August 9th Calling all performers from 3rd-10th grade, join TCT’s production of Annie Jr. this summer! There is NO audition necessary, you do NOT need to be enrolled in another camp to participate, and EVERY student is guaranteed a spot. With featured roles and ensemble parts new and experienced performers alike are certain to find a place in Annie Jr. “Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, with a beloved book and score by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, Annie JR. features everyone’s favorite little redhead in her very first adventure.
